At Kingdom City Church, we believe Jesus did not design His Church to be built around the gifts of one person. He gave a variety of ministry gifts so that His people could be equipped, strengthened, and prepared to participate in His mission.
“And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.”

These five ministry gifts—apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor, and teacher—are often called the fivefold ministry. Each gift reveals something important about the ministry of Jesus, and each contributes to the health and maturity of His Church.
The purpose of the fivefold ministry is not to create impressive titles or elevate a select group of people. Its purpose is to equip every believer to do the work of ministry.
- The apostolic gift helps the Church move forward.
- The prophetic gift helps the Church hear and respond to God.
- The evangelistic gift helps the Church reach those who are far from God.
- The pastoral gift helps the Church care for people well.
- The teaching gift helps the Church become grounded in truth.
No single gift is intended to function alone. Each gift needs the others. Together, they help the Church grow into spiritual maturity, remain unified, and represent Jesus faithfully in the world.

The Five Ministry Gifts
Extending the mission
The apostolic gift establishes, builds, sends, and advances the mission of God. Apostolic leaders see beyond what currently exists and help the Church move into new territory.
They often pioneer ministries, develop leaders, strengthen churches, create healthy systems, and help people understand how their local assignment connects to the larger mission of God.
At Kingdom City, the apostolic gift reminds us that the Church was never meant to remain inwardly focused. We are called to raise leaders, multiply disciples, plant and strengthen churches, and carry the gospel from our city to our region and the nations.
The apostolic question is:
Where is God sending us next?
Hearing and declaring God’s heart
The prophetic gift helps the Church recognize the voice, heart, and direction of God. Prophetic ministry calls people back to spiritual sensitivity, obedience, holiness, prayer, and dependence on the Holy Spirit.
Biblical prophetic ministry must remain submitted to Scripture, tested within Christian community, and expressed with humility and love. It does not replace the authority of the Bible or remove the need for wisdom and accountability.
At Kingdom City, we make room for prayer, spiritual gifts, biblical prophecy, discernment, and moments of response to the Holy Spirit. We want to be a people who not only know the Word of God but also recognize how the Spirit is leading us to apply it.

What is God saying to us?
Reaching those who are far from God
The evangelistic gift carries a deep burden for people who do not yet know Jesus. Evangelists clearly communicate the gospel, invite people to respond, and inspire the Church to live with an outward focus.
While some believers carry a distinct evangelistic calling, every follower of Jesus is called to share the good news and make disciples.
At Kingdom City, evangelism is expressed through personal relationships, community outreach, public events, missions, compassionate service, and a willingness to welcome people whom others may overlook.
We want to create opportunities for people to encounter Jesus—not simply invite them to attend a service.
The evangelistic question is:
Who are we reaching with the good news of Jesus?
Caring for and protecting people
The pastoral gift reflects the heart of a shepherd. Pastors nurture, guide, protect, encourage, and walk alongside people through the different seasons of life.
Pastoral ministry helps create a church culture where people are known, loved, supported, corrected when necessary, and encouraged toward spiritual health.
At Kingdom City, pastoral care is not limited to the senior pastor. It is expressed through ministry leaders, small-group relationships, prayer, discipleship, visitation, encouragement, counseling, and everyday acts of care throughout the church family.
We desire to be a safe spiritual home where people can heal, grow, belong, and become more like Jesus.
The pastoral question is:
How are the people being cared for?
Grounding the Church in truth
The teaching gift helps people understand Scripture and apply it faithfully. Teachers bring clarity, context, sound doctrine, and practical instruction so believers are not easily confused or spiritually misled.
Teaching is not merely the transfer of information. Biblical teaching should lead to transformation, obedience, and a deeper relationship with Jesus.
At Kingdom City, teaching takes place through Sunday sermons, discipleship classes, children’s and youth ministry, Bible studies, leadership development, mentoring, and personal study of Scripture.
We want believers to know what they believe, understand why they believe it, and be prepared to live it out.
The teaching question is:
What truth do we need to understand and obey?
You were not created merely to attend church. You were created to become a disciple of Jesus and participate in His mission.
